Sketchbooks and other works

34 Cecilia Road, E8 2ER

I like to draw or sketch what I see in front of me which might be chairs, electrical components, St Paul’s Cathedral, trees, the M4, people, council estates or studies of Thomas Gainsborough. Anything can be made into a nice drawing or sketch. Sometimes I draw the first thing that comes into my head, which might represent something (or not).

Similarly with making things. I make things using plastic bags, sandpaper, rusty nails, Victoria sponge cake wrappings, a Privet Hawk Moth, gold leaf, bar codes, paint samples, newsprint, and cardboard. It often surprises me what people like (or not). It’s all grist to the mill!
