I grew up in the Hampshire countryside with a father who was a gardener and a mother who was a botanist, so not surprisingly, I love to paint and draw outside, be it on the wilds of Scotland or Ireland; or closer to home, Epping Forest; or even closer to home, my own small garden in Dalston. I am endlessly fascinated by the construction of plants, the individual shapes and pattern of leaves and flowers and the mingled inter-relation they create.
