Yvonne Coughlan studied sculpture at Chelsea College of Art and makes work using collaged paper and paint creating layered abstract work infused with colour. Recent work has centred on using repetitive processes influenced by rhythms of the sea, the effect of light in the landscape and of the changes that occur through erosion.
Her studio practice spans painting, constructing, mono printing, collage and drawing and she uses processes that combine colour and texture, her work evolving through an intuitive, layered approach.
Her work has been shown and collected in the UK and abroad.
